Director of Digital Marketing, Trailborn
Position Summary
As the Director of Digital Marketing, you’ll join the dynamic marketing team at Trailborn and report directly to our Vice President of Marketing. Your role is pivotal in development and execution of our digital marketing strategies to generate Trailborn brand awareness, drive customer engagement and support revenue growth by delivering direct bookings on Trailborn websites. Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing our digital marketing campaigns including paid media, SEO, website content strategy, and performance analytics. The ideal candidate is a creative and analytical marketing with a passion for hospitality and the outdoors. You have experience scaling digital marketing for lifestyle hotel or travel brands, with a keen ability to blend storytelling, performance marketing and data analysis to optimize impact.

Develop and implement data-driven paid media campaigns across channels (Google Ads, Meta, Programmatic, etc.), driving direct revenue, optimizing for ROI and increasing customer acquisition.
Collaborate with the VP of Marketing to develop a comprehensive digital marketing strategy to drive direct revenue, brand engagement, and customer retention to Trailborn websites
Develop a test & learn approach deploying A/B test rubric across digital channels to optimize ad creative, messaging and the conversion funnel.
Provide reporting and analysis of all primary and secondary KPIs to measure the effectiveness of marketing across all segments: website, OTAs and other distribution channels
Develop and implement new website content across all Trailborn websites including our stand-alone F&B websites to maximize SEO, enhance overall awareness and drive both effectiveness and customer engagement.
Own the digital process set up for new hotels including paid ad strategies, GMB, OTAs and website alignment.
Collaborate with the Director of Marketing to deploy a loyalty & recognition strategy to increase website engagement, email subscribers and direct bookings.
Deploy marketing & advertising campaigns (digital, print, OOH) + alternate digital channels for Trailborn hotels in the West region
Provide overall support to the marketing team with key travel & hospitality insights, trend analysis and innovative ideas to grow our overall awareness and business

7+ years of proven performance marketing experience, ideally in the hospitality industry
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA preferred
Excellent analytical skills: Ability to interpret marketing data, extract key insights, and assess performance to optimize strategies and drive results (expertise in GA4 and Looker Studio)
Expertise in Digital Marketing & Web Platforms: Proficiency in GA4, SEO tools, and website management systems (e.g., WordPress, Figma, Squarespace, and other CMS platforms)
Strong knowledge of CRS, booking engines, and booking widgets and funnel analysis to enhance the user experience and conversion rates
Exceptional Copywriting Skills: Proven ability to craft compelling, high-converting copy for paid channels (e.g., Meta, Google Ads, programmatic) while maintaining brand voice, consistency, and messaging integrity.
Strategic & Critical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to go beyond surface-level insights by leveraging data to identify trends, uncover opportunities, and drive growth. Must be comfortable making data-informed decisions and testing new approaches to optimize performance.
Thrives in Ambiguity & Fast-Paced Environments: Adaptable and resourceful, able to navigate evolving priorities, shifting market conditions, and imperfect information with confidence. A self-starter who can bring structure to ambiguity and act decisively
Communication & Project Management: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, collaborate cross-functionally, and drive marketing initiatives from concept to execution
